Frank Lloyd Wright Masterpiece, Orinda, California

This Wright Usonian house, known as the Buehler House, was destroyed by fire. As a Master Builder with Alward Construction, Cregg Sweeney teamed up with distinguished architect Walter Olds, who oversaw the original construction of the house as an apprentice of Wright in 1949. Olds provided over a hundred half and full scale drawings for the reconstruction, detailing everything from concrete and drainage to custom light fixtures. The original design and pallet of materials was adhered to throughout. The house was featured in numerous publications, including an article on the front page of the House & Home section of the New York Times (February 13, 2003). The project also won a National CotY award from NARI.
